8 Ideas for Simple Self-Care

Think about you much???

We are in the homestretch…it’s the end of the year when all the holiday fun and madness is about to start. Halloween is this week, then Thanksgiving before you know it, Christmas and Hanukkah preparation is in full swing, then New Years. It’s the crazy fun time of year.

Please don’t get lost in the shuffle. I know you are working to make all the holidays super magical for your family. It takes a lot of work, effort, and thought. You enjoy it, you love it, I know. But I also know that it’s important (necessary) to take care of yourself to keep your energy up and well.

So what are you going to do this week for yourself? What special thing are you going to do to make you feel like you are the center of your own attention for a few minutes?

I know, you rarely put yourself first. You always do for everyone else. It makes you happy to do that. You feel like that’s what you are supposed to do.

Please, please, please find something you can do for yourself this week.

You don’t have to schedule a manicure, massage, or go shopping for new shoes.

It’s doing something that makes you happy. Something you’ve been wanting to do for a while. Something that’s fun, relaxing, soothing, feels good, or makes you feel special.

It doesn’t have to be a big production involving a huge act of freedom or spending a ton of money.

Here are a few ideas for you, if you can’t think of something to do for yourself.

8 Ideas for Simple Self-Care:

  1. go to bed early one night

  2. run to the library and grab a few books (it can be fiction, you don’t have to be learning ALL THE TIME)

  3. take a bath with a few candles or soft light while watching some of your favorite shows

  4. go for a run or walk that’s purely for pleasure (no thinking about calories, speed, or intervals)

  5. buy a bouquet of flowers and put them in the kitchen or bedroom

  6. set the time aside to call your sister or BFF

  7. order the truffle fries at lunch

  8. buy an EXTRA dark chocolate bar on your grocery run

Take care of yourself so you can 1.) enjoy life a little and 2.) be the best person you want to be for others (especially your child/children and spouse).

You should do at least one thing a week for yourself. While you are scheduling and noting everything that needs to happen in the upcoming months, please write in one thing a week. Make yourself as much of a priority as everything thing else; you are behind all the magic so fuel up, buttercup.

I'd love to hear about your plan, if you want to share! The more we talk about it, the more likely we are to fulfill it! Just hit reply, I'll totally get back with you!

Lots of love! xo
